VASEP Executive Board and its member companies have been actively participated in the Prime Minister’s Project No30 on Simplification of Administrative Procedures in State Management in the period 2007-2010.

In implementing the program of the Counseling Council for Administrative Reform, VASEP set up its Working Team headed by Standing Deputy Chairman Dr Nguyen Huu Dzung, a Council’s member.
 
VASEP Working Team has drawn up a detailed action plan, taking part in reviewing administrative procedures regarding to seafood import and export, cooperating with other teams under the Council to review the administrative procedures concerning Customs and tariffs.

Recently, VASEP Working Team has had field trips to Hanoi, Hai Phong, Da Nang, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Dong Nai, and Ho Chi Minh City to meet VASEP member companies and collect their opinions on administrative procedures concerning import-export, Customs and tariffs to submit to competent agencies.

Besides, VASEP also works with Vietnam Leather & Footwear Association (LEFASO VN), Vietnam Textile and Garment Association, and Vietnam Customs to hold seminars on administrative reform in processing practices.

In the first phase, VASEP Working Team has participated in reviewing seven administrative procedures relating to Customs and five administrative procedures concerning import-export.

In the second phase, the Working Team will collect opinions from individuals and companies that wish to improve the efficiency of administrative procedures, which might have adverse impacts on seafood import-export activities, and on the companies’ competitiveness in the market. (VietFishNews)
